This is the space where I breathe

I was going to start this post as a cover letter. With “I am this and that and here are the metrics of me” kind-of-stuff. But then I remember that I am turning to Medium to find another kind of space.

For about a year now, I’ve been awkwardly venturing out of my comfort zone, trying to write more personal and essay-style texts. After being a journalist for seven years, using “I” is definitely scary to me. Taking that conversational tone and showing my vulnerable side — or any sensitivity — is not something I was pushed to do while publishing for newspapers and magazines…
